Hometown Holiday CelebrationJoin us at the Yaquina River Museum of Art School House in the Legacy Arts Terrace December 12 & 13 and 19 & 20 from 10:00am to 5:00 pm
To continue the celebration and for gifts for the holidays, the museum will show original silk scarves by Paulette Hanson, known for her exquisite color combinations and painting on silk clothing. A collection of handcrafted jewelry including necklaces and earrings of semi-precious stones and unusual findings by the late Sondra Humphrey, will be presented in the museum shop. Raffles for a quilted wall hanging and an original silk top by Hanson will benefit the museum’s art programs for children and adults. ©2007-2010 Gallery Michael Gibbons |
A QUIET VOICE IN A NOISY WORLD Like many of my dedicated artist friends, what I was to do with my life was apparent to me as far back as I can remember. It wasn’t until my early twenties that inquisitiveness and crisis collided, giving birth to opportunity. At that point I could strip enough of other people’s expectations away to see clearly the path I was born for. Now, in my seventh decade, I am comfortable with my reason to be and with my life, I am.”
