Toledo, Oregon competes as a Finalist in the All America City nationwide competition

Toledo, Oregon has been chosen as the only Northwest town to compete as a Finalist in the All America City nationwide competition in Tampa, Florida. Michael was chosen by the local committee to be a part of the presentation and he will be in costume from the 1800’s to represent Toledo’s founding in 1865. He will have his palette and paint brush and he will be directing attention to the backdrops which will be landscapes and photos of Toledo’s past, present, and future. Narrators will be telling the story of Toledo and other participants will be dressed in particular costumes of related activities of Toledo. This is an honor for Toledo to be chosen to compete and Michael and Judy Gibbons are delighted to be a part of the All America City event. Much fund raising is happening to collect money for air fares and expenses while in Tampa. Bingo games, Dinner and Dancing, Skate Boarders Tournament, Golf Scramble, and Bowling are what Toledo-ites are having fun with to make this all happen.
