A professional working artist since 1968 who lives in and maintains a studio at Creswell, Oregon, Don Prechtel was invited to a week long residency by the Yaquina River Museum of Art on March 23 – 31, 2009. During that time, Prechtel, an avid collector of antique western and military accoutrements, will paint in and from the Justice of the Peace Studio, a facility maintained by local artist Michael Gibbons for visiting artists.

With his background of historical oil paintings and reproductions on book jackets, magazine covers, awards and museum collections of his work, Don is well qualified to compile a series of paintings of this northwest area we live.

The public is cordially invited to join Don Prechtel for a demonstration he will present at the Justice of the Peace Studio, located in the Legacy Art Terrace, directly across the street from Gallery Michael Gibbons, 140 NE Alder Street, Toledo, on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at 7:45 pm.
