LIGHT AT THE YAQUINA RIVER MUSEUM OF ARTBoard Members of the Yaquina River Museum of Art, Toledo, are shown with a check for $3,132.00 received from the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund to install a ceiling and track lights in the Exhibit and Education Room of the School House. The School House, built in 1887, was originally used as the Sunday School for the 1st Methodist Church and is part of the Legacy Arts Terrace at 151 NE Alder Street. Donations of carpet and floor covering were received from Friends of the Museum and it is planned the space will be open to the public by December 13 for the Toledo Home Town Holiday Bazaar. Some 800 people passed through this museum building in 2008 and the addition of adequate lighting will make it possible for added programs in the space.

A QUIET VOICE IN A NOISY WORLD Like many of my dedicated artist friends, what I was to do with my life was apparent to me as far back as I can remember. It wasn’t until my early twenties that inquisitiveness and crisis collided, giving birth to opportunity. At that point I could strip enough of other people’s expectations away to see clearly the path I was born for. Now, in my seventh decade, I am comfortable with my reason to be and with my life, I am.”
